The Young Men's Fellowship

Our Mission

We are on a mission to proclaim, encourage and organize a fellowship of likeminded young men where the strong will help the weak and all shall obey the scriptures by not forsaking the gathering of one another, that in unity and through teamwork, we shall win the world around us over to the Kingdom of Christ.

A Brief History About Us

The Young Men’s Fellowship (YMF) came to be following the ratification by Methodist Church Nigeria in her 42^nd/7^th Biennial Conference in 2010 at Umuahia, Abia State Nigeria.

This final seal was given after due consideration of the resolution of the Conference Connexional Council held in 2009, which recommended the formation of Young Men’s Fellowship under the Men’s Work Department of the Conference.

The Conference in her wisdom, moved to bridge the gap between the Youth’s and Men’s Fellowship, as at that time there was exodus of Young Men who fall within this category in the Church. It was thereupon decided and resolved that Young Men’s Fellowship be formed and inaugurated at all levels of the Church throughout the Conference Area.

The National Executive was set up and dedicated by His Eminence Dr S. Ola Makinde JP, CON on January 27, 2011 at the Prelate’s Chapel at Yaba. They were inaugurated with the charge from the Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, the Secretary of Conference and the Bishop of Evangelism and Discipleship, to seek the return of the Young People to our Church and making positive impact in the Church.

Membership

Membership shall be open to all young men (Laity and Clergy), who are baptized and full members in the church. Presently in the Methodist Cathedral of Unity, YMF boasts of forty (40) members made up Young Men between the ages of 31 to 45years old.
