As a Choir, we stand as a beacon of musical excellence within the vibrant city of Abuja and Methodist church Nigeria at large. Renowned for our proficiency, the Choir seamlessly blends various genres of music, including Classical, Contemporary, and Traditional, into harmonious melodies. Their extensive repertoire reflects this diversity, showcasing their ability to deliver uplifting performances across different styles. Central to our mission is the delivery of soul-stirring Spiritual Gospel music, aimed at ministering to hearts and spirits.
Guiding our choir’s artistic endeavours is the skilful baton Choirmaster/Music Director, the maestro Sir Roberts, Edward Oluwagbemiga KCW WHA JP, complemented by the esteemed Deputy Choirmasters, Mr. Davidson Ezeagwula, Mr. Aniedi Dick, and Miss Unwana Inyang, together they orchestrate the harmonious fusion of over 80 Choristers, each possessing finely tuned and well-balanced voices.
Throughout our illustrious history, we have received numerous accolades from both local and national platforms, testament to its exceptional talent and dedication. Additionally, they have had the privilege of participating in various Choir festivals hosted by different denominations and have been featured prominently in national programs at the prestigious national ecumenical centre.
Committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive music community, we actively provides resources, creates opportunities, and engages members in the transformative power of music. We firmly believe in the enriching influence of music, which serves to strengthen bonds and elevate lives. This commitment is evidenced through a variety of initiatives, including concerts, community hymn singing events, and music composition competitions, all aimed at celebrating and supporting musical endeavours.
Membership in the Choir is open to all individuals, regardless of religious affiliation, welcoming members of the church, Christians, and anyone who holds reverence for God.
In addition to our regular participation in weekly services, we play an integral role in numerous events within the Church, contributing to the spiritual ambiance and communal worship experience.
Furthermore, by the grace of God, we have released albums in 2014 and 2018, titled “Ever Faithful” and “Angels’ Voices,” respectively, showcasing their musical prowess and commitment to sharing their gift with the world.
The Methodist Cathedral of Unity Choir, as it is affectionately known, is governed by a dedicated executive team entrusted with the affairs of the Choir, ensuring its continued success and impact within the community.
